Wasted Potential Brass Band
After a while when a band or singer-songwriter achieves a certain level of success, they hire a horn section. Wasted Potential Brass Band is a horn section that hired a band. WPBB is a full-on, New Orleans-style second-line event based in Atlanta and frequently found on the streets of Cabbagetown, Castleberry Hill, Little Five Points and Decatur.
Wasted Potential is a spectacle. They draw a crowd. This is street music with a big, warm sound. They’re portable. They show up uninvited, a welcome surprise. Wasted Potential has played parades, wedding marches and receptions, TED talks and Turner Sports, BBQ festivals and jazz funerals. Twice recognized in the Creative Loafing readers’ poll, they are instantly recognizable if you see them on the street.
