Virginia McKenzie is a folk singer songwriter from Macon, GA. Virginia started performing her songs in 2008 in Macon, GA, having grown up there. Drawing much of her inspiration from nature, love, and healing, her songs captivate her listeners with a striking simplicity. Her voice has been described as a “haunting sound that breezes through the ears”.
From the time she was a child, music was a therapeutic outlet for Virginia, and so she decided to study Music Therapy at Georgia College and State University. Here, she was trained classically in voice. Artists that have influenced Virginia include Iron & Wine, Carole King, Fleet Foxes, First Aid Kit, Peter Paul & Mary, Madeline Adams, and the Dixie Chicks.
