Located in Third Street Park, at the intersection of Cherry and Third in beautiful downtown Macon, Arts @ the Park includes everything from magicians to professional balloon sculptors, blow-ups to Macon's "School of Rock," as well as 30 vendors selling everything from bison dogs to fine art, jewelry and hand-made items. The free Arts @ the Park is the place to celebrate Bragg Jam's mission of music, arts and community at its best in one fine afternoon for family. 

 

Bragg Jam is once again appealing to the entire family by hosting Arts @ the Park on Saturday, July 31 at a new location in the heart of downtown Macon, Third Street Park. This FREE event takes place from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. among the shade of the cherry trees with plenty of free and easy access to parking.

 

Bragg Jam's Art @ the Park invites families to create, perform and play in one of Macon's greatest areas of greenspace. Featuring art, food and beverage vendors, live music, community performances and nature-oriented activities for all ages. From magicians to african dance, Georgia Music's School of Rock to a public art project the whole family can participate in, there will be something for everyone at ARTS @ THE PARK 2010.

 

CALLING ALL ARTISTS: Arts @ the Park will once again be hosting local artists for an Open Air Paint Out. Artists should pre-register by emailing Meg@11thHourOnline.com. The Paint Out starts at 10 a.m. and finished paintings will need to be handed in by 4 p.m. Awards ceremony and the $200 cash prize for Audience Choice will be presented at 4:30 p.m.

Kids activities will include a tie-dye station, face painting and sidewalk chalk art, rock wall, blow-up obstacle course, moonwalk, and drumming sessions with the Big House Museum. Even the Macon Pinetoppers will be making an appearance and signing autographs.

10 a.m. Open Air Paint-Out Begins

 

10:30 OCMULGEE INDIAN PRESENTATION
Angela Bates, a park ranger from Ocmulgee National Monument will bring a travel trunk filled with tools that represent the Mississippian culture. These tools were used between 900-1540AD. She will talk about what the Indians life was like 1,000 years ago!

 

11-11:45 MAGIC SHOW FOR THE KIDS
With strolling magic and games from 11:45-2:30

 

11-2 THE JELLY BEAN QUEEN, Atlanta's favorite balloon sculptor will be dazzling kids young and old with her creative, and ornate balloon sculptures.
